Computer training | computer Courses

The following courses run on a regular basis in our training centres.  We also provide customised classes when required.  computer courses are available in classes but individual tuition is also available.  Our training centres are based in Nenagh and Limerick city.  External computer training classes are also available in Limerick, Tipperary, Clare and Offaly.  Training times are flexible.

 

Basic Computers

This is a stress-free  introduction to computers.  Learners are introduced to the parts of the computer and their functions.  Candidates learn how to type letters, create simple spreadsheets, visit websites and send emails. 

 

Intermediate Computers

This course for those who already know the basics and wish to improve their skills.  It gives trainees a thorough introduction to Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Internet and Email

 

PC Skills

This certified course is excellent preparation for those planning to complete the ECDL. Certification is with eBCI (eBusiness Certification Institute)

 

ECDL (We operate a European Computer Drivers Licence Registered Centre)

The European Computer Drivers Licence is an internationally recognised computer qualification.  Over 300,000 Irish people have already obtained this qualification and it is a benchmark for computing skills.  The 7 Modules of ECDL are IT Theory, File Management, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Databases, Presentations, and Internet and Email.

 

Computerised  Accounts

We offer computerised accounts using Sage Line 50 and Sage Instant.  No previous accounting knowledge is necessary.  The course starts with the basics and goes as far as bank reconciliation, reports, profit and loss, VAT etc.  This course has proved quite popular for those seeking office work.  Certification with eBCI is available.

 

Computerised Payroll

A natural follow on from the Computerised accounts course, this course shows trainees how to use the Sage Quickpay Payroll program.  No previous knowledge is required.  Certification with eBCI is available.

 

Internet and Email

Both basic and advanced courses available. The basic course (eSkills) covers topics such as setting up email addresses, booking flights and hotels,  paying bills online etc.  The advanced course (eCert) covers topics such as online chatting and phone calls (skype etc) , net meeting and other advanced topics.  Both courses are certified.

 

Computer Maintenance

This course shows trainees how to upgrade, repair and maintain computers.  It is both a hands-on and theory based course.  Certification is available and this is an excellent course for those who intend to do A+ in the future or for those who just wish to be able to maintain and fix their own computer.

 

PC Networking

A natural follow on from the PC Maintenance course.  Trainees learn how to create and maintain office and home wired and wireless networks

The cost of individual computer tuition in our training centers is €30 pr hr and computer training  in your home is €40 per hr.
